Difference Between Crystal and Gem

Gemstone is a rare mineral that is very expensive. Gemstones are beautiful stones that are used to make jewelry. Crystals are pure substances whose molecules are arranged in a regular geometric pattern.

A gem may be a crystal, while a crystal will not always be a gem.

Gemstones can have mineral bases such as ruby or diamond and organic bases such as amber. Crystals are solids in which atoms, ions and molecules are fixed in a regular order that extends into three dimensions. Crystals can also be defined as objects that have well-defined geometric shapes. A gemstone is also known as a gemstone, which can be preconscious or semi-precious, which is cut and polished for use in jewelry. Gemstones include diamond, sapphire, ruby, and emerald, while all other gemstones are considered semi-precious.

Gemstones can be classified according to the gemstone's chemical composition and crystal structure. Crystals are mainly classified as cubic, hexagonal, tetragonal, rhombic, monoclinic and rhombohedral. When comparing the cost of crystals and gems, the latter are more expensive. Almost everything related to minerals can be called crystals because they have specific properties. When comparing hardness, specific gravity, refractive index, durability, and fluorescence, crystals differ from gemstones. It should be noted that different gems have different properties, as different crystals have different properties.

When comparing color between gemstones and crystals, stones come in different colors such as red, green and blue. Crystals also come in colors depending on the passage of light through them.

Summary: 1. A gem can be a crystal, while a crystal will not always be a gem.

2. Gemstones can be mineral-based, such as ruby or diamond, and organic-based, such as amber.

3. Crystals are solids in which atoms, ions and molecules are fixed in the correct order, which extends into three dimensions.

4. Gemstone is also known as gemstone, which can be intentional or semi-precious, which is cut and polished for use in jewelry.

5. Gemstones can be classified according to the gemstone's chemical composition and crystal structure. Crystals are mainly classified as cubic, hexagonal, tetragonal, rhombic, monoclinic and rhombohedral.

6. When comparing the cost of crystals and precious stones, the latter are more expensive.

7. It should be noted that different gems have different properties, just like different crystals have different properties.
